- What questions does the reading bring up for you?
Pastor Richard's reflection
In verses 14-17 God says through St Paul
14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
In this reading we are encouraged to see that:
- Jesus death and resurrection gives us life
- we are children of God because God wants us to be his children
- as children of God we receive what God has for us
- God's Spirit reveals to us who we truly are...God's children
- How does Romans 8:10-19 affect how you see God, yourself, and how you see and will interact with others?
- What does Romans 8:10-19 call you to talk to God (pray) about? (Thanksgiving, more insight, help, forgiveness...)
- What do you think is worthwhile sharing with someone from what God has told you in Romans 8:10-19?
